In the bright lights of Nanjing Road Walkway, the Shanghai No. 100 Goods Store, which carries the commercial memory of New China, recently completed a silent "heart surgery". This commercial landmark, built in 1949, has a severely aged joint venture brand circuit breaker that has been in service for over 30 years in its underground substation. Faced with multiple challenges such as complex historical building structures and short construction window periods, Shanghai Changqi Electrical Engineering Co., Ltd., a partner of Changshu Switch Quick Change, has broken through with innovative technology and injected new intelligent power into this century old building through the full chain service of "survey design construction".

Full chain service overcomes transformation challenges
At the beginning of the project launch, the technical team faced spatial limitations unique to century old buildings: the height of the substation was less than 3 meters, the pipelines were intricate, and the daily passenger flow exceeded 10000, making it difficult to implement conventional construction methods. Shanghai Changqi Electric and Changshu switch technology experts jointly conducted on-site data collection and innovatively adopted the "prefabrication+quick installation" solution. By using customized renovation kits with a 60% prefabrication rate, the traditional replacement installation time has been reduced by 50%, achieving a breakthrough in "ready to install".
2-hour rapid replacement
During the construction window period of only 0:00 to 5:00 in the morning, the project team demonstrated precision control capabilities. Multiple engineers are assigned to work in groups synchronously, and low-noise construction techniques are used to strictly control noise levels below 45 decibels. By standardizing the disassembly and assembly process, the replacement of six old circuit breakers, which originally required 3 hours, was finally completed in just 2 hours, winning valuable time for the mall to operate normally the next day. After the renovation, the stability of the power system has improved significantly, and the newly installed CW series circuit breakers have shown excellent performance in key indicators such as temperature rise control and electrical lifespan. The person in charge of the user side stated, "By completing the iteration of core equipment with zero shutdowns and complaints, the quick change service has truly achieved minimal impact." This project not only ensures future electricity safety, but also forms a replicable renovation plan for old buildings.
